Skinny Folks (&Kids) Poolside With a Dinosaur

My studio (AKA, my apartment) is slowly returning to pre-deluvian normalcy.  The "Creeking More in the ATL" episode I'd planned to post today was destroyed (along with a few other works) in the flood of toilet water, so I've reached back into the pages of an old sketch book for an old, heretofore unposted illustration...

Skinny Folks (& Kids) Poolside With a Dinosaur, ink and watercolor, 2013

Four adults and three children hang out at a pool with a giant crocodile.  If you look behind the pool chair, you'll see that I have that black ghost-thing from Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away (a strange animated movie filled with the kind of randomness I've always appreciated)  joining in.

Here's a closeup of the crocodile's face and the boy in the foreground:

The guy standing behind the chair is carrying a torch:

One of the boys in the background thinks it's a good idea to play with the crocodile and the other boy would rather play with a frog.

The crocodile, a smoker, does not make healthy lifestyle choices, and the woman with the halo is probably telling him so.

And now I'm off in search of a dehumidifier...

Cheers.
