So there's a movie, an animated movie, that I've always liked. It's about a guy with a demon possessed arm...
...who rides on a yak/deer and ends up in the forest where he runs into a bunch of giant animals...
...and a girl who lives with a pack of giant wolves...
I like this movie a lot so images of characters from the movie turn up in my sketchbooks from time to time.
The problem is that the movie has a really weak title and whenever I tell anyone I like it I have to qualify it and explain that the title is not a great indicator of the movie's content. They could've given the movie any number of titles... Giant Boar... Demon Arm Guy... Girl With A Knife...
They could've just called it Movie. But they didn't. They called it something else.
Anyway, so here's the contest: the first person who posts the actual title of the movie in question in the comments section below will receive an original print of this drawing...
What better way to start out the new year than with some original Creek artwork?
Good luck.
And cheers.
Princess Mononoke! Loved that movie, but I agree that it has a terrible title...
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, JoshuagLewis! You've won! Now just send your mailing address to the Creek Text Line, my email address, or I'll just carry your prize in my hands all the time until I randomly run into you.
DeleteNever heard of it so I had to look it up, apparently Mononoke can mean spirit/monster, so if you just translate it the title is a lot better - "The Spirit/Monster Princess"!
ReplyDeleteThat is an improvement, but it still has the word "princess"...
DeleteI KNEW this seemed familiar! I vote Wolf Mother. Get it? Cuz of the band?
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that band...
