An Inking Lesson

I've noticed that even more millions of people visit the Creekification Blog when I offer one of my free art lessons, so this week I've decided to offer another free art lesson.  You're welcome.

This lesson will focus on my incredible inking process.  I'll demonstrate my sublime techniques on this random pencil drawing from one of my sketchbooks:

It's a bunch of short men stacked on top of each other and they're holding a giant squid and offering flowers to a woman standing nearby.

Here are some closeups:

Squids are fun to draw.  You should get someone to teach you how to draw them, because I'm not going to.  This is an inking lesson.

First, you'll need the proper tools.

A few brushes...

Some ink...

Some water...

A filthy rag...

Nibs...

You'll want to be careful with the nibs because they can sometimes be rather sharp and !!!MADRE DE MUERTE!!!!!!

Ooh, that stings.  Just a little blood, nothing serious...  Heh, heh.  Now where were we?

Man, it's really starting to gush there...  ...getting a little light headed...

...let's continue.  Okay, go ahead and grab your brush...  Whew...

...I just need to sit down for a second...

...you know what?  That's enough for today.  You've all done a great job.  We'll finish up next week.  Have you all checked out the WORKS page on my website (http://www.creekification.com/works)?  Go over there, check that out, and we'll all meet back here next Monday morning.

...man, I need to find a tourniquet.  I'm just going to lay down and sleep for a minute...

...ooh, what's that bright light in the distance..?  Maybe I should go towards it...
