Those of you who've spent any amount of time with me are aware that I'm an absurdly literate man who spends a great deal of time reading and pondering classic works of literature and philosophy.
And so, in an effort to improve the lives of all of the fine folks who visit my site, religiously, week in and week out, I am going to start a new occasional blog feature (and by occasional I mean once a month or so) and I'm calling it Black And White Illustrations Of Scenes From Some Of My Favorite Books And Stories.
[insert gong strike]
Say, for example, I've just finished reading "The Wizard of Oz" by L. Frank Baum. I'll take a passage from the book (like the scene wherein the wandering group of brainless, heartless, homeless, cowardly cohorts are attacked by flying monkeys) and I'll do a pen and ink illustration of the scene as it appears in my head.
Then I'll quote the passage in case you haven't read it (and, just so you know, including "spoiler alerts" is against my religious beliefs).
"...others of the Monkeys caught the Scarecrow, and with their long fingers pulled all of the straw out of his clothes and head..."
Then I'll include a few details from the illustration so you can have a better look at the piece.
And that's how things will go. Feel free to send any requests to natecreekmore@gmail.com and include the words "Mr. Creekmore, I'm sorry for bothering you..." in the subject line.
To be clear, I'm not promising that I'll actually fulfill any such requests, but I promise that I'll maybe think about one day getting around to reading your emails before sending them to my spam folder.
Keep it creeking, folks, and be firm in the faith that I'm constantly creeking more than most.
