Jennifer! Happy Birthday!!!!(!)

If one was to take a look at the Creekmore children (the ones on the Anthony and Debra branch of the Creekmore family tree), it would be immediately apparent that I, Nate Creekmore, am the mightiest and the most powerful.  But things were not always this way.  There was a time when I was weak and small and I looked like this:

Hard to believe, I know.  My older sisters were both bigger and stronger than me and, of the two, Jennifer was eldest and wisest.  Here's a  photograph of the three of us and our mother and our "dog" (actually, just a sentient, barky puff of fur):

...what am I doing?  You people didn't come all the way out here and pay good money just to look at a bunch of photographs!  You came here to see that sweet, sweet Creek art!  Well, here you go:

That's better.  Now, since Jennifer (AKA, the Inexplicable Red Head) has a birthday this week, I'm going to use today's blog to talk about her and how much she means to me.

(...by the time I was born and started hanging out with her, Jennifer had moved on from the afro.  But because it's much more fun to draw her with one, that's what I'm going to do...)

Like I said, when we were kids, Jennifer was the eldest and wisest.  Anytime we played a game, she knew all of the rules...

...she always had Allison's back if a boy said something crazy to her...

And, most importantly, she knew about life.

Back when we were little, it was rare, but you'd occasionally see a naked person on television or in a movie...

Allison and I were shocked.  How could this be?  Why would a person be naked on our television?  We were flumoxed and scandalized... until Jennifer stepped in and set us straight.

And so, with our minds at ease, we went back to our world of He-Mans and Legos and Lucky Charms, secure in the knowledge that no one was indecent enough to stand in front of a camera without any clothes on.

So Happy Birthday, Jennifer!  And thanks for letting us all be kids for just a little bit longer.

Cheers.

  1. You can never be too careful around a thundercat kid... He-man kids on the other hand, totally cool!

    1. Good eye, String! I was hoping the 80's details wouldn't go unnoticed.
