Allison! Happy Birthday!!!

...do I know Allison?  Allison Creekmore?  Of course I do, don't be an imbecile.  I've known her for as long as I've been alive.  And since her birthday is this week, I'm going to share a story about her with all of you all.

Let's see... there are so many good Allison stories.  She's been on the Creek Blog at least twice now.  There's the one where she defends herself against an attacking goose...

And you saw the little kid version of Allison back in February in the post I put together for Jennifer's birthday...

Hmmm... I think I'll go with a Little Kid Allison story...

Okay, so me and Allison were best buds growing up.  People used to think we were twins.  We skateboarded...

We jumped off of the swings to see who could go furthest...

We pretended to be airplanes...

...but she was my older sister, and, as such, it was her duty to periodically tattle on me.

Back in my early elementary days, I was a class clown.

If there was one thing my elementary school teachers hated, it was class clowns.

One day, my teacher had enough so she wrote a note about how horrible I was and then she pinned it to the back of my shirt for my mother to read when I got home.

I could've just taken it off, but because I was a genius I decided it would be best to hide it.  So I put my backpack on over it and kept my backpack on even after I got into our house.

Allison, sensing that something was amiss, asked loudly:

And my mother was like, "Take your backpack off in the house."  So I went to my room and took it off.  At this point, I STILL could've just removed the note, but for some reason it seemed more reasonable to just walk around the house with my back up against the wall.

Allison had more to say...

The gig was up.  My mother saw the note, read it, and then she said the worst thing she could have possibly said:

And when he came home, I received a spanking that was so horrible I can't even remember it...  Actually, I can't remember most of the countless spankings I received as a child; the pre-spanking fear was always the worst part anyway, the dread of what was to come...

Now that I've had years to contemplate the situation, I don't think Allison was motivated by spite or any kind of negative emotion.  I think maybe she was just taking advantage of a "teachable moment"...

So, thanks..?

Anyway, Happy Birthday Allison!

Cheers.

  1. yes - love that story! I'm pretty sure you didn't take off the note so that years later it would be way funnier to use on this blog.
